FACIAL REJUVENATION

ACUPUNCTURE FACELIFT

What is an Acupuncture Facelift? How successful is acupuncture facelift?

A 1996 study published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture showed that of 300 people who received facial acupuncture, 90% saw marked results after one course of treatment, which is 2 sessions a week for 5 weeks.

An Acupuncture Facelift provides the most natural and safe way to rejuvenate the face and neck. Not only does it involve minimal risk compared to surgery or Botox injections, but also very little trauma to the face and body.

How do Acupuncture Facelifts actually Work?

An Acupuncture Facelift is virtually painless and relaxing procedure that utilizes ultra-fine needles to target wrinkles, sagging skin, droopy eyelids, smile and frown lines, and also the tightening of chin muscles and jaw lines. Moreover, Dr. Mike’s unique method also focuses on improving the patient’s health while increasing their relaxation making each and everyone of his facelift sessions an invigorating and energizing experience for the body, mind, and soul. Relaxation obviously decreases frowning. It decreases scowling. It decreases squinting, and those are all line producing activities that people do better without.

What will my initial visit entail?

Upon beginning the session, patients will be asked to wash their face with warm water. Afterwards, Dr. Mike will take a photograph of the face, which will then be transferred into a special computer program which will magnify the wrinkles and fine facial lines. After his initial analysis, Dr. Mike will then explain the patient’s customized treatment plan and answer all the remaining questions.

What if I have a phobia of needles?

Dr. Mike uses hair thin needles that come straight from the best manufacturers in the United States. His method of acupuncture is virtually painless, and according to most of his patients, it feels like nothing is there. The most sensitive patients describe the feeling of the needles as that of a mosquito bite.

“If my wife can take these needles, everybody else can take them, too!” -Dr. Mike

What if I’ve already had Botox injections?

The majority of patients who have had previous Botox injections say that due to the facial muscle paralysis involved, they lost control of their facial expressions. However, Acupuncture Facelift will increase the energy & and blood flow circulation to all of the facial muscles, which will help the patients regain control of their facial expressions, without the injection of toxic chemicals into the body.

How many treatments will I need & How often will I need them ?

The number of treatments that the patient’s customized plan will entail depends on their age, state of health, and the depth of the targeted lines or wrinkles. The majority of our treatment plans are completed with at least 10 treatments, results optimized at 2 treatments a week. We also offer emergency treatments for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, or any other important event that would prompt the patient to need immediate assistance and results. The cost of the treatments depends upon Dr. Mike’s initial evaluation of the patient’s special case. Most cases, however, end up costing $1000 for the first 10 visits and an extra $100 for every additional visit needed.

Cost comparison between different methods:

Surgical face-lift
Cost: $6,000 to $12,000.
Timing: Three to five hours.
What happens? Under a general anesthetic the muscles around the face or neck are tightened and loose or sagging skin is removed.

Acupuncture face-lift
Cost: $100 to $150 a session.
Timing: 45 minutes a session. Needs at least 10 treatments over five-week period.
What happens? Non-surgical treatment using ultra-fine needles on the face
& scalp to stretch facial skin and massage to tone, plump and lift
the skin, to reduce signs of aging.

Botox injections
Cost: $200 to $400 per area treated.
Timing: Treatment takes 10 to 15 minutes.
What happens? Injections of nerve toxin temporarily smooth frown lines and wrinkles by paralyzing facial muscles.

MERIDIAN IMAGING

DIGITAL MERIDIAN IMAGING“AcuGraph 4”

1. What is AcuGraph?
The AcuGraph Digital Meridian Imaging system is a computerized tool used to analyze and document the energetic status of the acupuncture meridians. we will use the system in a short examination by touching a moistened probe to acupuncture points on your hands and feet.

2. What are Acupuncture Meridians?
Acupuncture meridians are invisible energy pathways in your body that have been used therapeutically for over 5000 years. These meridians conduct life-force energy, or Qi (pronounced “chee”) in and around all the partsof your body. Blockage or interference in these meridian pathways can result in energetic imbalances that may contribute to negative health conditions. The primary goal of acupuncture treatment is to restore energetic balance and proper energy flow to these meridians, thus allowing your body to function normally and return to health naturally.

3. How can AcuGraph help me?
The AcuGraph system allows us to measure and analyze the energy level of each acupuncture meridian. Armed with this information, we can make better-informed decisions about your condition, and provide the best treatment possible.

4. What does my P.I.E. score mean?
Within the P.I.E. chart, each wedge of the circle represents one meridian pathway. Those shown in green are balanced and functioning properly. Colors that do not extend to the edge of the circle identify and classify your meridian energy imbalances. Your P.I.E. (Personal Integrated Energetics) score includes a complete analysis of all your meridian pathways and reflects the overall health of your meridian energy system. A perfect score of 100 reflects complete balance and unimpeded flow of your Qi energy. A lower score means there are various imbalances that we should address together.

5. Why Did We Choose AcuGraph?
AcuGraph is the premiere measurement tool of its type on the market today. It provides a fast and efficient exam, and allows us to easily track your progress.

AcuGraph is the natural choice for Acupuncturists who are committed to high-quality care and outstanding results. we insist on providing the highest quality care, and this is the most important reason we have chosen the AcuGraph system.

AURICULAR MEDICINE

AURICULAR MEDICINE, also known as auricular therapy (ear acupuncture) is a form of alternative medicine based on the idea that the ear is a micro-system, meaning that the entire body is represented on the auricle. Ancient Chinese physicians stimulated the ear to prevent and treat not only diseases of the ear, but also diseases in other parts of the entire body. All these ancient recorded descriptions and practices became modern basis for all later development in Auricular Therapy.

In the 1950s, auricular reatment reached a higher level with the theory of “Reversed Embryo,” as proposed by a French Doctor, Dr. Paul Nogier. Auricular Diagnosis came into being during the late 1980s and early 1990s. During this period,
researchers and practitioners of auricular treatment eventually realized that Auricular Practices were not only valuable in treatment, but also led to valuable tools for diagnosis. Dr. Li Chun Huang O.M.D. is the leading researcher in auricular diagnosis. She has suggested many successful detection techniques and routines using auricular diagnosis.

Dr. Mike is one of a few Acupuncturists in the United States who has finished the Master of Auricular Medicine program under Dr. Li Chun Huang.

Auricular Medicine is a system of diagnosis and treatment that has been practiced by the Chinese for centuries.  Its earliest uses were for the improvement of vision among warriors and sailors and the management of sciatic pain in individuals.  Medical science eventually took notice of the method when others went so far as to cauterize the ears to treat pain in other parts of the body.

Today, clinical studies and actual observations can attest to the effectiveness of Auricular Medicine as an alternative to prescription drugs and medicine.  Auricular Medicine is used both as a diagnostic method to determine sources of disorders as well as a treatment method by applying pressure on appropriate points of the ear that correspond to specific organs or systems of the body. Universities in the United States, Germany, and France have found that Auricular Medicine is useful for pain (acute and chronic), stress conditions, gynecological conditions, gastric disorders, neurological disorders, neuralgia, and circulatory disorders. Most of these indications have become well established through recognition by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.). There are only a handful of selected practitioners in the Orlando Centroplex that are qualified and able to apply this specialized form of medicine.
Uses of Auricular Medicine

Auricular Medicine has shown an 85% success rate in the treatment of around 200 disorders and diseases.  It is particularly helpful if you:
•    suffer from musculoskeletal pain

•    are recovering from a bone fracture

•    are overweight and would like to lose weight without the use of medical pills or invasive surgery

•    are undergoing a substance or alcohol abuse program, where Auricular Medicine can improve mood levels, reduce  cravings and contribute to overall wellness by stimulating the release of serotonin in the brain

•    are looking for alternative options for the diagnosis and treatment of a health problem.

How does Auricular Medicine work?
Auricular Medicine involves the stimulation of specific points of the ear using the following methods:
– Ear massage
– Point massage
– Acupressure pellets
– Electrical Stimulation
– Laser Stimulation

FIBROMYALGIA

Fibromyalgia is a non-life-threatening, chronic disorder of the muscles and related soft tissue, including ligaments and tendons. Its main symptoms are muscle pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and tender points at certain parts of the body. Many people describe Fibromyalgia as feeling like a persistent flu.

Muscle pain, either throughout the body or only at certain points, is the primary symptom. It may range from mild discomfort to pain severe enough to limit work, social activities, and everyday tasks. Pain commonly occurs in the neck, shoulders, chest, rib cage, lower back and thighs and may feel like a burning, gnawing, throbbing, stabbing, or aching sensation and may develop gradually. It usually seems worse when a person is trying to relax and is less noticeable during activity.

A related, key aspect of Fibromyalgia is the presence of “tender points,” muscles and tendons that are tender when pressed. Typically, tender points are located in the neck, back, knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip.

In conventional medicine still we do not know what causes Fibromyalgia.  There are several theories about possible causes or triggers. Inadequate sleep is a possible trigger. Another is suffering an injury or physical or emotional trauma that affects the brain, spine, and nerves.  Some experts believe that a viral or bacterial infection plays a part.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Fibromyalgia is a type of Bi syndrome which by definition Bi means obstruction and could be caused by wind, cold and dampness. Due to the obstruction of channels (energy) Qi and Blood cannot circulate so that Painful Obstruction Syndrome will develop.

Painful Obstruction Syndrome is due to the combined invasion of Wind, Cold and Dampness, causing swelling and pain. It is due to a weak body condition and the space between skin and muscles being open, which allows the Wind to penetrate
